What is Libata?
Libata is a collaborative project started in Trinity College, Dublin attempting to produce an organised library of datasets and references to datasets on the internet.
PhD students may spend years constructing vast datasets for their PhD. Yet following the submission of the PhD, the invaluable dataset ends up scattered and lost. This website aims to gather these datasets to provide a library of datasets. It is envisaged that such a library will allow these datasets to be reused and for the author of the datasets to be involved in such further use if desired.
The library will also contain useful datasets used by PhD students, their fellow academics and maybe at some point, the wider world.
The data library is efficiently organised by 'variable of interest'. Collaborators can add to this using either a link to further data or uploading data directly.
A subsequent aim is to document the research associated with each dataset.
